In October of 1968, Lawndale/Little Village Community Leader Richard Dolejs reached out to the Latin Kings encouraging them to help clean up buildings which had been vandalized by local youths. This photo appeared in the newspaper on October 30th, 1968. Pictured are members of the Latin Kings which the newspaper referred to as “a group of young men within the Little Village area.” Here Richard Dolejs and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pradun of 2501 S. Central Park Ave., supervise as their garage doors are re-painted by the group.
