The Royal Cavaliers began in the late 1970s at 18th and Carpenter in the Pilsen neighborhood. The Cavaliers came together as they had problems with the Latin Counts and Latin Kings. The original members were Mando, Lucky Luciano, T-Bone, Mayo, Malo, Johnny Capone, Eddy, Raven, Nino, Papo and Muppet. In the year 1981, the Royal Cavaliers joined the Folk alliance as most other gangs were choosing sides.
In the year 1982 the Cavaliers left 18th and Carpenter and opened new turf at 21st and Leavitt where their rivalry with Latin Kings grew more intense due to being closer to Latin King turf. Royal Cavaliers lasted until the mid-1990s and some members flipped to Two Six.
